Casually Crypto aims to provide casually explained crypto concepts.
This journey began when I started dabbling in the crypto world in late 2015 after learning about the dark web. After a while, I noticed that if you wanted to make a transaction, you couldn’t use a debit card or credit card; instead, you had to use Bitcoin.
Because of this, I wondered why/how something seemingly intangible could be interchanged for goods and services between unknown parties, especially when those things were explicit.
Towards the end of my sophomore year, and doing my own research on a handful of projects, I had somewhere between $400 to $500 spread across a few projects. This is around the time when we had the crypto bull run of 2017, and in a month, I saw the value of the bags I held go from less than $500 to just above $2,200. I was fortunate enough to be short-sighted and cash out my bags two days before the entire crypto market crashed; I consider myself lucky now. Experiencing a quick bull run followed by a just as fast bear market hooked me on crypto and blockchain technologies.
I am currently a young man with only a few years of working in Corporate America. I have no desire to stay in the rat race for the rest of my life, so I dabble in things while able. If you have more responsibilities than I do, I welcome you to live through my experiences and watch me fail or succeed.
Here you will find anecdotes to read that casually explain crypto concepts. I believe that sharing my personal experiences with crypto is essential because I genuinely believe this technology is here to stay. It has and will continue to disrupt antiquated systems, but it will integrate with many more than it will wipe out. I’m grateful to be part of the first and early adopters of the tech, but by no means am I a genius nor a millionaire.
